Mission Statement
A virtual signing is a
way to get a personalized signed copy of a book when you are unable to attend
any of J.R.’s in-store signings. You will order the book through our
website, indicate who you would like the book signed to, and we will get it
signed and shipped out to you on the book's release day.
Why is it called a “Virtual” Signing?
This is a term coined by another author. It isn’t the signature that is ‘virtual’, it is the signing event. You get the signed book without being at a physical book signing.
Is the book really signed by J.R. Ward?
Yes. There are pictures and videos on the Virtual Signing Facebook page as well as J.R.‘s official fan page of her signing the virtual signing books, if you would like to check. No part of the personalization or signature is written by anyone but J.R. Ward herself. It is NOT a stamp. She hand writes them all.
Disclaimer:
You are purchasing a signed book only. You are not purchasing the wrapping the book comes in. You are not purchasing the named label that comes affixed to the book. You are not purchasing an Inspected By sticker. You are not purchasing a complementary bookmark. These are extra touches we provide at our own cost to make the virtual signing experience extra special. We will not refund or replace a book based on torn wrapping paper, a smudged name label or an unsatisfactory Inspected By sticker.
GENERAL INFORMATION
What does it mean ‘supplies are limited’?
It means we have a finite amount of books available for sale. Once all of the books we have been
allotted have been sold, then this portion of the virtual signing is over and you will not have another chance to order a signed copy of this book. Please don’t email us asking to get an order in after the limit has been reached. We have been given a hard limit for this signing and that is really all the physical books we have available to sell.
What can I get the author to write inside my book?
She will write your first name only. If you would like her to sign one book to multiple people, she will sign their first names only, as well. Please use your real name. Due to the sometimes high volume of orders we receive for the virtual signings, we would like to keep it as simple as possible. The author will write your name, or whoever you want the book inscribed to, a short message of her own and her signature. Some exceptions may be made for something like, "Happy Birthday" or "Merry Christmas", at her discretion.
The author will not sign the books to or from any character in her books, other books, Movies, Mythology, or TV shows.
How do I let you know who I want the book inscribed to?
As you are ordering your book there will be a box that indicates who you would like your book inscribed to on the payment page. This is where you will put the name you would like Ms. Ward to sign the book to. Example: "Please sign to Martha" or just "Martha." If you do not want your book personalized, please indicate that you would like an autograph only.
If this box it left empty it will be sent to you as a Signature Only.

I already have a copy of the book or older books that I would like signed. Can I ship them to you to get them signed?
No. You must purchase the book through our website in order to get it signed during the virtual signing. Anything you send to us…we are keeping.
I pre-ordered my copy of this book from Amazon. Will it be signed, and is that part of the virtual signing?
No, we are not affiliated with Amazon or any other bookstore. If you have pre-ordered your book somewhere else, but would prefer a signed copy, you will need to cancel your pre-order and reorder your book through us.
I missed the virtual signing! Can I get a signed bookplate?
No, that is not a service the virtual signing team provides.
I missed out on a previous virtual signing. Could I possibly order that book now?
No, we are sorry but we only offer 1 book at a time unless expressly stated on the site or it is available in the online store. After Lover Enshrined's Collector Edition Hardcover is released in early 2014, we are planning on redoing Virtual Signings for all books in the BDB series provided that the hardcover editions can be made available for us to do so. More information to follow in 2014.
CHANGES TO ORDER
I forgot to write anything in the box...what happens now??
You can email us to add it to your order. We will try our hardest to make sure it's added to your order. WE DO NOT GUARENTEE THIS! If you don't contact us, then your book will be signed by the author, but it will have no name inscribed on it. It will include just her signature
Can I change my shipping address once I have placed an order?
Yes. You will have to email us and a pay a $5.00 change of address fee to change your address. Please make sure your shipping address is correct before placing the order. If you are moving, we suggest you have the book sent to someone else who can hold it for you.
Can I email you to change my shipping option or quantity ordered?
No. We cannot make those types of changes to orders once they are placed. What you can do is email us to cancel your first order. Once that is done you can place another order with the updated information or shipping changes that you would like.

Media Mail: (2-10 business days) NO TRACKING –You will NOT receive an email when your book is shipped out. We cannot offer customer support for this option.There is no recourse if the book is lost in transit. Can take as long as 4-6 weeks, in virtual signing team's experience.
Priority Mail: (1-4 business days) TRACKING AVAILABLE – You will receive an email the morning of ship day with your tracking information from stamps.com
Express: (1-2 business days) TRACKING AVAILABLE - You will receive an email the morning of ship day with your tracking from stamps.com
UPS
**UPS does not ship to PO BOXES. Please use an alternate shipping method or an alternate address if you have a PO BOX**

International Customers
United States Postal Service
First Class International: NO TRACKING AVAILABLE.
Infamously known as “The Drunken Donkey Method” It is the least expensive international option and it can take WEEKS to receive your book. Please be aware that it may take 3-4 weeks to arrive in Canada and 6-10 weeks in Australia from our Virtual Signing Team’s past experience.
Priority Mail International: (1-2 weeks depending on country) TRACKING AVAILABLE: You will receive an email notification on the morning of the day it is to be shipped.
Express Mail International: (approx a week...depends on the country) TRACKING AVAILABLE: You will receive an email notification on the morning your book will ship.
UPS
All options have reliable tracking. Arrival depends on the option you choose at check out. **Update April 2013** There may be a brokerage charge when shipping internationally, which you will be responsible to pay for before receipt of your package. At this time we know that it affects Canada.
Summary:

Untrackable options: Our drunken donkeys, Maribelle and Doris, otherwise known as Media Mail and First Class International.
I received an email telling me my order had been generated postage...should I expect my book in a few days?
Not necessarily. We generate postage the entire time the virtual signing is going on. So you may get a notice that you have a shipment at the very beginning of the month, however, that book will not actually be put in the mail until the advertised release day. If you read the email, you will see it lists the release day as the ship day, not the day you receive the email. Generally UPS will receive notification prior to ship date and USPS will receive notification on ship date.
Will I get my book the same day it is released?
No, your book will ship on release day. It can take anywhere from 2 days to 2 months (international)…depending on the shipping option you choose.
What kind of things could delay my package?
Please be advised that sometimes there may be a problem getting the book to you due to the political climate of your country.
i.e.: Postal Strikes, Political unrest, Government budget issues, volcano dust, zombie apocalypse, tropical storms… The list is really endless and these are not things we can control or avoid.
Please note that as much as we’d like to, the Virtual Signing Team cannot offer any customer service support for a non-trackable shipping option (Media Mail and First Class International) , and we will be able to offer only limited support even for the trackable ones. And please remember, no matter what option you choose, we cannot replace lost or stolen book(s) under any circumstances. Therefore, we urge you to pick your shipping option carefully, and strongly encourage you to use a trackable one.
We understand that having your book delayed can be frustrating. We would like nothing better than for you to receive your package as soon as possible. Please be patient and courteous; your book will get there in due time. We do not have the power to speed up the process. If you received an email notice that your book was shipped, then it definitely made it out.
Can you tell me what my postage will be if I order?
No. We do not have the ability to calculate postage. It is automatically generated through the website. If you would like to see what the postage would be before you order, simply go about the ordering process as you normally would...just do not click on the Pay link. It should give you an accurate total without placing any orders.
Can I place one order for multiple copies and have them all shipped to different addresses?
No, you must have separate orders for each shipment address. However if you are ordering more than 1 book for different people and are having them all shipped to you, to save on shipping you should only make one order for multiple books. Just indicate in the “Who would you like your book to be signed to” field the individual inscriptions. (i.e. book #1 to Jenn book #2 to Paul)
Returns and Damaged Books
-You have 30 days from date of shipment to report printer, binding, inscription errors.
Printer Errors include: Misprinted pages, missing pages, folded pages, repeated pages, upside down pages, and ink malfunctions. We try to catch all these, but some pages DO slip through.
Binding Damage: Binding of book is loose; pages are falling out, cracked etc.
Inscription errors: Missing signature, misspelled names. (does NOT include the absence of a custom message. We do not offer that, if you request something special written in your book, it will be denied).
These are the only reasons we will refund or replace books.
I received my book, but it’s damaged! What can you do for me?
You will need to send us a picture of the damaged package and book. Send the picture to wardenvs@gmail.com with picture of paper used to wrap or copy of invoice. We will review it and contact you once we have settled the issue with the post office or UPS. Unfortunately it happens, accidents with the sorting machines at the facilities or on the trucks are obviously unintentional and very sad. (Seeing a book destroyed hurts our hearts too!) If we happen to have any more books on hand, we may be able to replace it. It may just have a signature and no personalization. We apologize for this inconvenience, but it is a circumstance that we cannot control.
What happens if my USPS or UPS sends my book back to you as undeliverable?
We will have no indication that shipping to you will be an issue until the book is turned away at customs or returned to us as undeliverable. It will be sent back to us and we will email you. It can also take a while to ship to other countries, so please be patient.
If your book returns to us, and it is not due to our error, you will be responsible for the cost of reshipping the book to you. You can choose a different shipping option at that time and we will give you the options and prices if this occurs.
PAYMENT INFORMATION
How do i pay for the book?
We accept payments by Paypal only. If you do not have a receipt from Paypal then your payment did not go through and your order did not process. It is your responsibility to make sure your payment has gone through.
I don't have a Paypal account; can I pay with a Credit Card?
Yes! You don't actually need a Paypal account to use Paypal. Just chose the option on the Paypal signing screen once you hit the payment button on our website. It will let you put in your information and your credit card number.
